Brits Urged to Get Flu Jabs and Covid Boosters as Healthcare Experts Warn of a Twindemic This Year

Local Pharmacists and Boots stores made available for media filming opportunities

Boots UK, the UK’s largest pharmacy and beauty retailer, are offering filming locations and making local pharmacists available for comment on why it is more important than ever to get a flu jab and Covid booster, and clear up any common misconceptions.

The Government has urged millions of people across the UK to come forward for their flu jab to maximise their protection ahead of winter as experts warn of a 'twindemic' this year. Dr Mary Ramsay, Director of Public Health Programmes at the UKHSA, said: "Our latest data shows early signs of the threat we expected to face from flu this season."

Health officials are worried because the return to pre-pandemic levels of mixing in the UK means the flu and Covid are ripe to bounce back this season, when immunity in the population is low.

Media are invited to capture footage of the flu jabs being administered at a Boots store in their area where a pharmacist will also be made available for an interview.
