Bentley Celebrates 100 years at the Geneva Motor Show

Global debut of special Limited Edition inspired by iconic racing model

5 March 2019 - Geneva, Switzerland - Bentley kicked off its Centenary celebrations at this year’s Geneva International Motor Show with the launch of its highly evocative new Centenary Limited Edition, inspired by one of the British brand’s most iconic racing cars; the new Bentayga Speed, the world’s fastest production SUV and the all-new Continental GT Convertible.

A superbly crafted car, the new Mulsanne W.O. Edition by Mulliner includes a piece of W.O.’s personal 1930 8 Litre crankshaft, which the engineers mounted between the two rear seats, paying tribute to Bentley’s founding father and is restricted to just 100 models.

The Bentley Bentayga Speed, the most powerful and fastest production SUV in the world, has a W12 engine output which has been increased from 608 PS to 635 PS (626 bhp), producing a maximum speed of 306 km/h (190 mph) and a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) time of just 3.9 seconds.

Designed, engineered and handcrafted in Great Britain, the new model builds on a long tradition of Speed models that were first introduced with the Continental GT in 2007, and pushes the boundaries of Bentayga performance further since claiming the production SUV record at the gruelling Pikes Peak International Hill Climb last year.

As with all Bentaygas, the all-wheel drive Speed is equipped with Electronic Differential Lock and four Drive Dynamic modes that help take luxury to new places. Enhancements to the Sport mode also provide a more dynamic drive. A greater exhaust character, as well as a firmer suspension tune, further increase driver engagement.

Making its public show debut, the new Bentley Continental GT Convertible, shares the same style and technology as the latest Continental GT, however, at the touch of a button, the Convertible transforms into an exhilarating open-top Grand Tourer, offering supercar performance with breath-taking elegance and refinement.

Inside the luxurious interior, a continuous ring of hand-crafted veneer sweeps from the fascia into the doors. From dual veneers and diamond knurling to the Bentley Rotating Display, the new Continental GT Convertible represents the pinnacle of British craftmanship.

An exhilarating, open-air grand tourer, the new Continental GT Convertible features a 6.0-litre Bentley 12-cylinder engine that can accelerate from
0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 333 km/h (207 mph).

The Geneva International Motor Show is just the start of the Centenary activities planned during 2019. Bentley will celebrate its Centenary on 10th July 2019, a defining moment for the world’s most sought-after luxury car brand.
